The first funding collaborative dedicated to supporting summer programs

The Summer Youth Program Fund (SYPF) –Indianapolis is a funding collaborative that provides grants, coordinates professional development opportunities, and disseminates community information to support summer programs serving Marion County youth. SYPF-Indianapolis is designed to make the grant process easier for charitable organizations by using a single application form.

Having identified duplication in funding efforts, The Indianapolis Foundation and Lilly Endowment Inc. jointly administered $370,000 to 26 summer programs in the first year of SYPF. Since 1995, SYPF has awarded over $23.3 million in grants to support summer programs.

SYPF-Indianapolis has evolved from providing only emergency assistance to supporting quality daily, enhancement, residential and youth employment programs.
